Title compds. (I; R = alkyl, cycloalkyl, adamantyl, lower alkenyl or lower alkinyl; R1 = lower alkyl or hydroxymethyl, X = H or lower alkyl; R2 = H or lower alkyl) useful as insecticide, were prepd. by reaction of thiourea(II) and amine(RNH2) in the presence of formaldehyde. Thus, mixture of 0.88 g t-butylamine and 20ml formaldehyde reacted with N-2,4-dimethylphenyl N'-methylthiourea to give 1.35 g 5-t-butyl-1-(2,4-dimethylphenyl)-3-methyl-tetrahydro-s-triazine-2[1H -thion.
