<p>The direction finder uses a compact beam. The 360 degree roaming range is divided into several overlapping sectors, the antenna signals for each sector being separately received and displayed. Pref. the antenna elements are coupled via separation amplifiers to a beam formation circuit (6) which provides several broad overlapping beams distributed around the 360 degree scanning range. The beam signals (A,B,C,D) are fed via respective coders (7) e.g. frequency multiplexers, and a summing amplifier (8) to a common receiver (9). The output of the receiVer (9) is fed via filters differentiating the signals for the different beams to respective displays (11A...11D).</p> |
