PURPOSE:To stably obtain a sharp image at a high speed by enhancing the compatibility of a heat-meltable binder with a solvent and smoothly transferring ink to the surface of a recording body, by composing the ink of the heat- meltable binder, the solvent to said binder, a colorant and phospholipid. CONSTITUTION:Thermal transfer ink is prepared by using a heat-meltable binder, the solvent to said binder, a colorant and phospholipid and appropriately combining other additives with said components if necessary. As the heat- meltable binder, natural wax, synthetic wax, higher fatty acid and higher alcohol are designated and contained in the ink in a range of 20-80 wt.%. As the solvent to the binder, for example, a hydrocarbon solvent such as isoparaffin is designated as a pref. one. Phospholipid is effective for enhancing the compatibility of the heat-meltable binder and the solvent and for preventing the separation of the solvent due to the compatibility interiority to prevent printing inferiority such as fog or staining at the time of recording and pref. contained in the ink in a range of 0.1-30 wt.%. |
