PURPOSE:To correct a drop in charging potential due to variations in photoreceptor characteristics wtih temperature, by controlling a charger output by detecting the temperature of a photosensitive drum. CONSTITUTION:A thermistor 10 detects the surface temperature of a photosensitive drum 1 and on the basis of the detected value, a control circuit 11 controls a high-voltage power source circuit 2 to vary a voltage applied to a charger 3. The control is only exercised so as to raise the voltage only at >=30 deg.C at which variations in photoreceptor characteristics with temperature are increased. |
