The animal drinking fountain is particularly for cattle. It has a spring-loaded basin moved downwards by the weight of water flowing in via a valve, and upwards as water is extracted, the inlet valve being opened in the upper position. The valve is connected via a flexible hose to an inlet nozzle in the lowermost part of the basin. In this part of the basin and adjacent to the nozzle (15) is a cleaning port (40), closed by a removable stopper (42). There can be a length of pipe (41) extending vertically downwards from the port, whose ID can be between 2 and 3cm.
