PURPOSE:To obtain a print paper substrate which is resistant to water, does not cause yellowing and pinholes, and has high hiding power by coating a composition contg. a polymer having unsaturated bonds and polymerizes when irradiated with electron beams, and an inorg. white pigment on paper and drying the same then cured by irradiating electron beams thereby allowing the composition to set. CONSTITUTION:The coating soln. prepd. by mixing a polymer contg. double bonds (acrylol, allyl, etc.) that can be polymerized by electron beams in molecules with an inorg. white pigment such as TiO2, ZnO, SiO2 or talc and, if necessary, a monomer having one unsaturated bond of other acrylic acid or the like or a monomer having two or more unsaturated bonds and dispersing the mixture in an org. solvent is coated on the surface of paper and is dried. Thence, electron beams are irradiated thereto, whereby the print paper for photography having a barrier layer of an ultra thin layer (3-100mu) of improved resistance to penetration of an aqueous photographic processing soln. is obtained. |
