1. A piecewise tyre tread having two inner rib or block rows (5, 6) which run in the circumferential direction of the tyre and are separated by a central zigzag circumferential groove (1), and outer block rows (7, 8) which are arranged on either side of said rib or block rows (5, 6), run in the circumferential direction of the tyre and are respectively separated from the inner rib or block rows (5, 6) by side zigzag circumferential grooves (2, 3), characterised in that the angled sections of the central circumferential groove (1) make an angle (alpha), positive or negative as the case may be, of approximately 30 to 50 degrees with the circumferential direction (a) of the tyre ; the angled sections of side circumferential grooves (2, 3) make an angle (beta), positive or negative as the case may be, of approximately 55 to 65 degrees with the circumferential direction (a), the side circumferential grooves (2, 3) being respectively wider than the central circumferential groove (1).
