The brush has the desired arched shape given by using a moulding sleeve (1) which is cylindrical in shape. It has a curved or arched base (2) corresponding to the shape of the free end of the finished brush. The inner section of the sleeve has several cylindrical inwardly protruding rings (3) which decrease in dia. from the outside inwards while the actual sleeve has at its upper open end an edge with a larger ID serving as a stop (5) for the socket ring holder of the brush. Synthetic resin, cement or the like is cast in the mould to receive the bristles and the reduction in the expensive bristle lengths is achieved by using more of the cheaper resin which forms the curve.
