The heat absorbing solar energy collector consists of a hemispherical body, which absorbs the heat from the ambient air in its lower open section, and collects solar energy in the upper, closed dome-shaped section. The hemisphere has apertures half-way up, and serves as a support for a coiled, laminated absorber tube. A second transparent hemisphere covers the first one, the latter having a corresponding number of air passages to the absorber around the base. Ambient air heat is absorbed in the lower section, and considerable subsequent heating takes place in the upper section. An air suction fan effects air exchange in the absorber section, during windy periods.
