PURPOSE:A resin composition, improved in flame retardancy, which is composed of a thermoplastic resin, an organic halogen compound and a xylene resin. CONSTITUTION:100pts.wt. of a thermoplastic resin is compounded with 5-30pts. wt. of an organic halogen compound and 1-30pts.wt. of a xylene resin. The organic halogen compound is a flame-retardant organic halogen compound, such as an aromatic, alicyclic or aliphatic compound, having a halogen atom such as bromine, chlorine or fluorine, in the molecular structure. Said xylene resin, as well as the organic halogen compound, imparts flame retardancy to the composition obtained, and is effective, in particular, for the prevention of melt dripping during combustion. |
