The solid-fuel boiler is particularly for voluminous fuel such as straw, peat, wood etc. It consists of a double-walled cylinder, heat-insulated on the outside, the water flowing between the walls, enclosing the firebox and with adjustable inlets for combustion air. A door uncovers the entire cross-section of the firebox and the boiler has a box-section base with further adjustable air inlets and connected by ports to the firebox. A ceramic or metal insert (16), which can be heated to red heat, is mounted in the base (2) or between it and the firebox (4), while a smoke flue (19) and a blower fan (17) are mounted in the base walls. Nozzle tubes (22) run along the lowermost part of the boiler (1), having outlets aimed towards the firebox centre, and are connected to a compressed-air supply.
