A protective striking plate comprises a casing, which substantially consists of a U-profile element, two parallel legs of which enclose a recess in a stop plate 6. In order to strengthen the striking plate and allow play-free adjustment relative to both the bolt and the latch on a door, the one leg has an adjustable leg part 3a', which, between the bolt and the latch, is actuated by a centrally fitted screw 5. This engages in a thread in a hole in the adjustable leg part and at its other end is rotatable, but is guided through a hole in the opposite fixed leg part 3b' such that it is substantially non-displaceable in the longitudinal direction. The screw can be actuated from the one side face of the door frame 2 through a hole 2b, which subsequently is fittingly closed by means of a plug 10. The latch and bolt 9 of the door will be able to be introduced into the striking plate and bear in a play-free manner against the adjustable leg part 3a' on each side of the adjusting screw 5. The adjustable leg part 3a' can be made in one piece with the casing 3 or can instead form a separate part which is hinge-connected to the casing or is displaceably guided on the bottom part 3c thereof. <IMAGE> |
