<p>The fitting connecting the ends of two tubes enables structures such as exhibition stands, shelving etc. to be built up. This fitting uses an adaptor sleeve (1) which fits between the ends of the two tubes (20) to be connected, with a shoulder (2) at each end of a cylindrical part (3) matching the external size of the tubes. Into the remaining projecting part (9) which is fitted inside the tube end, is secured by a nut (13) and bolt (4), a wedge block (10). This block has a curved end which fits into a troughed recess (8) in the adaptor, and which holds the nut, and which is locked in place when the bolt is inserted. The other end is serrated (11) to lock inside the second tube end. The block has central ridge (12) forming a pivot point when the bolt is screwed in, ensuring a strong connection at the serrated zone.</p> |
