Roll-up floor heating mat - with meandering resistance wires fixed by tapes to plastic foil

Roll-up mat for electrical resistance heating of floors consists of resistance wires which are arranged in a loop or meander shape on a plastic foil. Adhesive plastic tapes fix the wires to the foil at right angles to the wires. Near the return bends of the resistance wires, the tapes have a smaller distance from each other than in the remainder. In the space between the wires and the tapes, rectangular slots are punched out of the foil. Such a roll-up mat can be produced at low cost, even by semiskilled personnel. It eliminates the risk of local heat pockets.
