<p>The coupling for a lorry and trailer has the diagonal corners of the lorry and trailer linked by crossed arms (3,4) to prevent the adjacent corners touching, especially on reversing. The crossed arms allow a close spacing of unit and trailer for ahead travel, with reduced wind resistance. The trailer is steered by a steering arm linked between the front axle of the trailer to the towing unit and fitted with sliding joints.</p> |
