The box file is for storing loose correspondence. A storage section has a cover with a swivel bearing on the storage section. It can be fixed to the section by locking into it. A holding device secures the correspondence on the inside of the storage section. The storage section is made in the form of a filing basket (16) closable by the cover (12). The holding device (18) includes at least one spring clamp element which with the cover closed keeps the stack of correspondence under pressure.
