The system relates to the control of a transformer under load, and comprises a kinematic drive to a control spindle (1) against a rotary spring (2) concentric with rotary cams (4,5) with internal profiles with specified shapes. The mechanism includes pivoted link rods (6,7) in contact with the drum and switches (8,9) one being of the vacuum type and the other being of the mechanical stop type. Inside the radial spring is a hydraulic brake unit including a spring loaded pair of walls, the spring being retained in a diametral channel and the balls engaging with recesses in the outer channel in corresponding positions.
