The kitchen unit utilises the heat dissipated from a refrigerator, deep-freezer etc., together with that from kitchen and bath drain water, in order to heat water for washing. The refrigerating circuit condenser is formed by a heat exchanger between the refrigerating medium and the washing water, the entire waste heat from the refrigerator being used for water heating. Regulation is dependent on the refrigeration load.
