PURPOSE:To provide titled molding material which can form molded articles having excellent heat resistance and mechanical strength and excels in moldability, and abrasion property, by a method wherein an inorg. powder filler and an arom. nylon fiber are incorporated with the molding material. CONSTITUTION:A phenolic resin molding material incorporating an inorg. powder filler and an arom. nylon fiber is provided. Examples of the inorg. powder fillers used are CaCO3, MgCO3, silica, alumina and gypsum. An example of the arom. nylon fiber used is a fiber obtd. from isophthalic acid and m-phenylenediamine. The arom. nylon fiber is used in an amount of pref. 1-20wt% based on the weight of the inorg. powder filler. It is preferred to sufficiently untwist the arom. nylon fiber when the fiber is used. |
