PURPOSE:To ensure the stability and reproducibility of adhesive ability and to increase the separating ability, by introducing the nonpolarized and polarized functional group on the surface of the activated charcoal bead of specific particle diameter fored with thermosetting resin as raw material. CONSTITUTION:The bead in particle diameter 5-500mu is granulated by using thermosetting resin. This is heated in electric furance and sintered to be activated charcoal bead of perfect amorphous type carbon. At the granulation of the bead, perforosity is given by applying ethylene glycol. As required, water vapor is given to this activated charcoal bead to increase the ability of adsorption. Further, on the surface of this activated charcoal bead, nonpolarized and polarized functional group(carboxyl group, keton group and aldehyde group) is introduced to assure the stability and reproducibility of adhesive ability and to increase the separating ability. Thus, the filling agent for high speed liquid chromatography broad in applications can be obtained. |
