<p>Penicillins of formula:- R'.NH.CO.NH.CO.NH. H.CO-(6-APA) and their salts and esters, R = opt. substd. phenyl; R' = acyl. The cpds. are broad spectrums antibiotics and are used as additives to animal foodstuffs. The cpds., their salts and esters are prepd. conventionally, e.g. by reaction of 6-APA, or an ester or salt of 6-APA with a reactive deriv. R'.NH.CO.NH.CO.NH. H.CO2H; also by reaction of an alpha-aminopenicillin of formula R. H.CO-(6-APA) with an N-methyl-N-nitroso-N'-acylbiuret.</p> |
