<p>PURPOSE:To cool steel sheet always to a prescribed temp. efficiently in cooling the hot rolled steel sheet, by spraying cooling water compulsively between the steel sheet and a cooling pad pressed elastically to the surface to be cooled of the steel sheet. CONSTITUTION:A cooling pad 2 having many spraying nozzles 3 for cooling is arrnaged so that it faces to the surface 1a to be cooled of a hot rolled steel sheet 1 which is conveyed in the direction of A. The cooling pad 2 is allowed to contact with the surface 1a of the steel sheet through parallel links 6 by an air cylinder 5 and is pressed to the surface 1a elastically with a spring 7. Cooling water is fed as pressurized water to the cooling pad 2 through a valve 10 and a flexible hose 11. The pressurized water forms a clearance between the surface 1a to be cooled and the cooling pad 2 against the elasticity of the spring 7, and spouts out from spray nozzles 3 for cooling water as high speed stream, hereby the surface 1a to be cooled of the steel sheet 1 is cooled effectively at a high coefficient of heat transfer.</p> |
