<p>The warp yarn supply reels (5) circulate above a needle carrier (3) the needles (7) of which are supplied from weft reels (14) which revolve with the carrier. The warps (6) pass from the reels (5) through rocking beams (8), the oscillation of the spring-actuated beams being used to rotate the warp reels (5) via friction clutches (16), i.e. so that all warps are at constant tension and the final warp-knit fabric is uniform. Pref. the warp reels (5) are rotated by worm-and-wheel drive (19, 20), the rocking beam (8) being coupled to the friction clutch (16) by levers (33).</p> |
