The multiple conductor electric cable has its core (1) enclosed by an extruded inner layer (2) and has a double layer of fibres (3,4) between this layer and an outer extruded layer (7). This consists of two sets of fibres spun on in two different directions so as to form a diamond mesh. These fibres are secured to the inner layer by an adhesive coating. This may be applied by dipping or spraying, or another suitable method. The adhesive coating may be solutions of polyisobutylene, polyvinylether,plastomers and water dispersions of polyvinylacelate or high molecular materials such as vinyl and acryl mixed polymers polyurethane and isocynate.
