PURPOSE:To improve the maintenance of the copying machine and its actual working hour by scanning the device consisting of a light source and one-dimensional image sensor along the lengthwise direction of a charge wire and performing diagnosis by the video pulse signal above or below the specified level obtainable at that time. CONSTITUTION:A charge wire 1 is stretched in the lenghwise direction of a corona discharger 5 and a channel-shape stand 6 is so provided as to be driven by way of a cord 11. A CCD sensor 9 as a one-dimensional image sensor and a laser light source 10 are mounted to the stand 6 in the positions where they oppose to each other with the wire 1 sandwiched. While the charge wire is being scanned in the lengthwise direction, the video pulse signal is stored in a RAM by way of a CCD control circuit, microcomputer, memory circuit, etc. and the results of the diagnosis relating to the size of the wire are displayed by comparing the pulse values of the upper and lower limits of the size of the wire. Hence, the maintenance and actual working hour of the copying machine may be improved. |
