<p>PURPOSE:To prepare an attenuated live mumps vaccine having strong immunogenecity and effective to the prevention of mumps, by the acclimatizing subculture of novel mumps virus in a specific living cell. CONSTITUTION:Attenuated live vaccine is prepared by the acclimatized subculture of a wild mumps virus in a living cell selected from the cells of birds (e.g. amnion of grown chicken egg, chorioallantois of grown chicken egg, fibrocyte of chicken embrio, etc.) and human diploid cell (e.g. WI-38 starin cell, MRC-5 strain cell, etc.). The virus is a newly separated wild mumps virus having strong activity. The process enables the attenuation of the virus without lowering its strong immunogenecity.</p> |
