PURPOSE:To prevent the degradation of video quality, by oscillating the reproducing head broadwise the track through the application of alternating voltage and biasing the head with the alternating voltage at the peak position of the reproducing head output. CONSTITUTION:The control circuit 7 feeds the output of the oscillator 19 to the bias circuit 21 and the reproducing head 23 is scanned while it is oscillated broadwise the track. Next, the peak position of the reproducing output is detected at the peak detection circuit 4 and the output voltage of the oscillator 19 at the peak position is stored in the memory 11. Further, at reproduction, the reproducing head 23 is biased via the bias circuit 21 with this memory output. Accordingly, even if the reproducing head is not woblled, tracking can be made by following to the curve of track, allowing to prevent the degradation of video quality due to hue variation. |
