An aerobic biological system for the treatment of effluents with organic contamination is based on a partly immersed revolving drum which is divided into six sector-shaped cells, each with two subdivisions. The trickling elements to carry a mat of biogenic matter are made of propylene. Each alternate element has a grid of dome-shaped bosses which are pressed out to both sides in turn and act as spacers for the plane mat growth carrying elements. The plate indicates one side wall of the revolving partly immersed sectional drum. Each drum section is filled up by e.g. polypropylene sheets, pref. of corrugated shape. Alternate sheets (30, 32, 34) have bosses of dome shape, pressed out to the right and to the left in a regularly distributed pattern. These act as spacers for the sheets which carry no spacing elements. This simplifies the assembly and the dismantling of the elements which carry the biogenic mat.
|
