<p>A textile panel handling device for lifting the top panel from a pile comprises a gripper surface which can be lowered under controlled presser onto the top panel whereby the gripper surface advances the top panel towards a stationary presser element acting on the top panel so that the top panel loops upwardly to form a fold, which can be gripped by a lifting mechanism, which pref. advances the top panel to a conveyor for feeding to a processing machine. The device is used partic. for advancing garment panels (e.g., pockets) to a sewing machine. The device operates consistently with panels of different shapes and sizes.</p> |
