发明名称 PRODUCTION OF MULTICORE FIBER CONNECTOR
摘要 PURPOSE:To readily and simply manufacture the multicore fiber connector of high containing efficiency, small size and high accuracy by performing the positioning and axis aligning of optical fibers through the utilization of the inside surface of concentrical capillary tubes. CONSTITUTION:After optical fiber cores are passed through a cap nut 6 and molding die 8, their core sheaths 7... are stripped off for the required amount. Thermosetting resin is coated on the portions 1... having been thus made to strands and the cores are inserted into glass capillary tubes 4.... They are then moved and aligned into the die 8 and are put therein with their end faces being aligned. Thermosetting resin is injected and packed into the other end part of the die 8. When the die 8 is removed after the thermosetting resin part 5 has set, the end face is formed by the optical fiber bundle provided with the capillary tubes 4... and may be readily polished. The positioning and axis aligning of the optical fibers are done by making use of the inside surfaces of these capillary tubes, by which the multicore fiber connector which is higher in containing efficiency, smaller in size, higher in accuracy and easier and simpler to manufacture as compared to the system of utilizing the cavities formed by a round bar axis bundle, is provided.
