The cutter reproduces a bladed key with an indented longitudinal edge, using a milling cutter (2) with movements controlled by a sensor (4) following the profile of a model key (9). A slide (1) locates the cutter (2) and the sensor (4). The model (9) and the blank or blanks (7a, 7b) are mounted on a second slide (5), while relative slide displacements provide for movements parallel to and normal (P) to the cutter axis (3). To permit the simultaneous cutting of two blanks, two cives (6a, 6b) or clamps are provided. The vices are positioned symmetrically relative to the normal or radial cutter trajectory (9), and position blanks so that their major planes extend to pass through the cutter axis (0, 3). The vice (8) locating the model (9) may be parallel to one (7b) of the others. The cutter (2), and the active sensor edge (4a), have the same radii.
