A number of pipes buried in the ground are connected between distribution and collection mains, while other pipes above the grund contain irrigatin orifices and are connected at one end to a water supply. The water circulation in the pipes below and above ground is monitored to ambient temperature and soil humidity. The water flow in the pipes is started and stopped depending on temp. and humidity in individual pipes as necessary. Movable transparent cloches are included and one pipe at least (14) in each cloche (18) is situated at a predetermined distance from it and from the surface of the ground, so that the water discharged through the orifices runs down the cloche surface.
