<p>The machine gathers and processes animal fodder for making sileage. It has a housing with intake and discharge at the front and rear respectively. A rotary chopper (22) is mounted on a transverse shaft (40) at the intake parallel to the cutter bar (34), the crop passing between them and to two contra-rotating crusher rollers (47, 48) to the rear, and whose clearance can be set to less than the thickness of an average grain of maize. An elevator (44) delivers the chopped material to these rollers, from which it passes to an auger (52) on a shaft running in the travel direction and offset from the housing centre line, and then to a blower (64) discharging through the outlet.</p> |
