Prefabricated element assembled structures - have water tight joints utilising cement paste in elastic tube in groove, and mortar filling

The process for provision of watertight joints for structures made from prefabricated building elements is esp. applicable to water towers, swimming-pools and other units where water is stored. A groove (2) is worked out from the fitting surface of the element (1), for inserting a thick walled elastic tube (3) while fitting is taking place. Elements are then pressed together, and the tube is filled with cement paste (4). Thin mortar is cast in the resultant enclosed spaces (6) and the surface joint gaps are also block with mortar. This enables separate prefabricated elements to be used, with watertight sealing effected by simple means.
