Abrasive article contg. abrasive in a binder also contains cpd(s). (I) required for the surface treatment of the workpieces. Specified (I) are corrosion inhibitors, detergents surfactants, emulsifiers and/or dispersants, which are used in an amt. of 0.1-60 (1-50, esp. 1-15) wt.%. The binder pref. consists of plastics or rubber, e.g. an abrasive moulding was made from a mixt. of 60 (wt.)% polypropylene or polyethylene, 35% Al2O3 or ZrO2 and 5% fatty acid alkylolamide. The article is specified for use as unshaped filling in vibrational and centrifugal polishing equipment. It eliminates the need to add (I) separately during polishing.
