PURPOSE:To simplify a processing device for a fault by executing its own diagnostic routine when the processing device for option instructions is not performing its original processing operation and then by holding an error state when a machine error is detected. CONSTITUTION:The system consists of main memory 30, CPU31, and option instruction processing devices 32 and 33, and in devices 32 and 33, a micro-diagnostic function is provided for a check on a machine error. When an option instruction is not in process, the micro-diagnostic is performed and if the machine error is detected, machine error FF38 and 39 are set and the microdiagnostic routine is stopped. Devices 32 and 33 perform the option instruction detection operation and when the option instruction is detected and FF38 and 39 are both set, an error signal is transferred to error decision circuit 40 of CPU31. Consequently, the need for an interruption register for error processing is eliminated and fault processing constitution is simplified. |
