PURPOSE:To clearly indicate focusing condition, light from a subject is devided into two to be received by two sets of photoelectric converter elements, and signal from which is digitally processed by a microprocessor. CONSTITUTION:Light image beam is devided into two, one being totally refelected beam from two pairs of rotary mirros and the other being deflected beam. Both images are received by photoelectric converter group 8 and 9 and alternately outputted by switch circuit 11 as detection signal. This signal is brough through a logcompression circuit 13, A/D converter and I/O circuit 15 to the microprocessor 19 for calculation process. The processor 19 calculates detection output Vout1 and Vout2 by equation I to be followed by the calculation of focus deflection detection output Vout3 by equation II. Thus, the display 20 clearly indicates back, correct, or front focusing regardless of elements 8, 9 variations, allowing the user to easily and correctly make manual or automatic focusing.
