PURPOSE:To reduce the wear and noise of a piston, by coating a fluorine resin on the outside surface of the portions of the piston. CONSTITUTION:Fluorine resin films 6, 6 are coated as bands on both the skirt portions 4 of the piston 1, which extend perpendicularly to the pin hole of the piston. The fluorine resin is an ethylene tetrafluoride resin, a copolymer resin consisting of ethylene tetrafluoride and propylene hexafluoride, a copolymer resin consisting of ethylene tetrafluoride and perfluoroalkoxylene, or the like. Finely pulverized powder of the fluorine resin is dispersed in a thermosetting resin such as a polyimide resin. The mixture is dissolved with a diluent. The resulting liquid is coated on the skirt portions by spraying or brushing and then baked at a temperature of 150 to 300 deg.C so that the films of 5 to 40 mu in thickness are produced. |
