<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accomplish an AWG single hop WDM network backup plane constitution method with which the number of collected nodes of a backup plane is remarkably reduced, costs are reduced and reliability is improved. <P>SOLUTION: An active type coupler CPCA includes a packet collision avoiding mechanism in which only the packet having firstly arrived at the coupler is allowed to pass and other packets are blocked when the coupler is in an idle state on each wavelength channel in the network of a configuration where a plurality of nodes are integrated in a coupler CP and then are connected to an AWG, out of an AWG single hop WDM network targeted to a MAN employing the AWG for a hub node, for a network configuration employing such an active type coupler CPCA as a target, the backup plane for reliability improvement is constituted by paying attention to it that the possibility for a plurality of active type couplers to simultaneously break down is low and by taking into account only the traffic sent from nodes accommodated in the same active type coupler on a normal plane. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
