PURPOSE:To eliminate the occurrence of uneven recording by letting counter electrode be a rotatable cylindrical drum. CONSTITUTION:A cylindrical drum form counter electrode 4 is disposed rotatably via its revolving shaft 5, and the end of a recording electrode body 1 comprising disposing a multiplicity of neelde form electrodes at a specified spacing in one row is opposed to the outside surface of the circumference of the counter electrode 4 along the axial direction. An electrostatic recording medium 6 consisting of a dielectric layer 6A composed of paper or other dielectric and a conductive layer 6B composed of conductive anisotropic material having conductivity only in the thickness direction is passed between both electrodes 1, 4 while the outside surface of its conductive layer 6B is being contacted to the recording electrode body 1. Then, when a high voltage is applied to the needle form electrodes of the recording electrode body 1, discharge occurs between the same and the counter electrode 4, whereby electrostatic recording is accomplished in the dielectric image 6A. According to the movement of the recording medium 6, the counter electrode 4 rotates and does not slide with the recording surface. Since this avoids damaging the recording surface, the spot form electrostatically charged images of an even potential level are formed. |
