PURPOSE:To enable the coating film of superior film forming characteristic of dye mordant containing layer, particularly coating characteristic and of even and homogeneous quality to be coated by using the specific water dispersible granular polymer mordant. CONSTITUTION:The water-dispersible granular polymer mordant consisting of the units of the formula (A is monomer unit containing two or more ethylene form unsaturated groups; B is alpha, beta-ethylene form unsaturated monomer unit; R is H, methyl, ethyl; x thru z are molar ratios; x is 0 to 5mol%; y is 0 to 90mol%; z is 10 to 100mol%) is dispersed and dissolved in a substantially aqueous dispersion solvent. This dispersion solvent is coated as an image receiving layer on a substrate being an image receiving element. Provision of this polymer mordant containing layer as a scavenger layer in any of the photographic elements having the image receiving element, treated sheet and dye image forming material containing layer also containing silver halide photographic emulsions in combination gives equally good results.
