Cable guidance system for road vehicle - measures deviation from AC carrying wire and reduces it to zero using sensor near centre of vehicle

The vehicle is guided by an electromagnetic AC field generated around a guiding wire running along the vehicle path and carrying AC. It is scanned by coils on the vehicle whose signals are a measure for their transversal deviation from the wire. A controller guides the vehicle back to the wire. The transversal deviation(YM) of a point(14) in the middle of the vehicle from the wire is reduced to zero by placing the coils at or near the centre point of the vehicle rather than at the front as in normal practice.
