<p>The motor vehicle has pneumatic tyred driving wheels which can be liquid-ballasted up to 100%. A ballasting vessel enables pressure of this liquid to be adjusted by a medium under pressure and is connected to each tyre via a passage through the driving shaft and a rotary joint. The vessel has two separate compartments (1d, 1g) each connected to one of the tyres, the pressure in the two being adjustable independently. Adjustment can be by a plunger (5) in each compartment, to which pressure is applied from a source, typically an air compressor (2), controlled by the driver.</p> |
