<p>PURPOSE:To accomplish detection of oil leakage direction easily and quickly through investigation of oil flowing down by peeling the corrosion proofing layer off so that at least two adjacent range sections of aluminium coating are exposed to the underside of the cable. CONSTITUTION:The corrosion-proof layer 2 of the cable is peeled off at a proper point between oil leaked sections, for example, near the center to expose the aluminium coating 1. Herein, at least two range sections 1a and 1b are exposed to the underside of the cable. Leaked oil trickles down through the range sections of the aluminume coating in drops 3a and 3b. The oil drops are let fall on filter papers 4a and 4b and then, a monitoring is made on a stain on the filter paper caused by the drops. The oil from the oil leaked point indicates thin stain presenting light yellow because the flowing oil is relatively fresh. That from the point affected by leakage indicates thick stain, presenting dark brown because it is retained between the aluminium coating and the corrosion proof layer for a long space of time.</p> |
