A current transducer for use with a conductor wherein the transducer comprises a Carrier Domain Device (12, 14) located adjacent the conductor 1 in the magnetic field produced by the current Ix in the conductor and signal conditioning means for preparing the output of the C.D.D. for subsequent processing or transmission. The transducer may include a member (6, 8) composed of substantially ferromagnetic material arranged to encircle the conductor thereby intensifying the magnetic flux density and having an air gap (6b, 8b), the C.D.D. being located in the air gap.
