<p>PURPOSE:To prevent deterioration of heat efficiency due to accumulation of waste paper scraps in a heating zone and alloy formation between heating resistor and an electrode, and to enhance type quality, by tapering the edge of the resistor in a thin film type heat recording printing head. CONSTITUTION:A plurality of heating resistors 7 made of a Si-Ta alloy formed on glazed layer 2 are provided only on the areas where heating zones A of an insulating, i.e. ceramic substrate 1 are to be formed. The section of the part where electrode 4 of heating resistor 7 and lower layer electrode 4a made of chromium are connected, i.e. part of electrode 4a is underlaid has a tapered form. Upper electrode 4b of electrode 4 is made of gold, formed a little apart from heating zone A, and not directly connected to resistor 7, but only electrode 4a is connected to it.
