The measurement element is for rail track vehicle wheel loading and may be used with another device to measure bogie wheel loadings. Accurate results are achieved without requiring exact measurement point maintenance using strain gauges. This enables easy installation with mechanical strength. Each element consists of a mechanical transverse beam (B1, B2) with its ends sprung relative to the centre by having slots perpendicular to the longitudinal axis cut either side of the centre section. Each end includes a hole containing four strain gauges placed symmetrically w.r.t. two perpendicular measurement planes and connected in a bridged circuit.
