A rotational drive powers the guide housing of the upper shell of the brake on which acts an adjustable pressure loading unit. This comprises a chamber contg. a compression spring regulated by a screw. The rotational drive for the lower shell has a toothed wheel and a further toothed wheel with a friction layer against which the lower-shell rests. The two drive unit are coupled together by a common drive shaft. A stable cast metal support frame with lower and upper parts guarantees vibration-free movement of the thread.
