<p>New 1,2,3,4-tetrahydroisoquinolines and processes for their preparation are provided; the new compounds may be represented by the formula: (I) wherein R1 and R2 are each hydrogen, lower alkyl, lower alkenyl, acyl, aryl or ar(lower)alkyl, in which the aryl and the aryl moiety of the ar(lower)alkyl may have substituent(s) selected from the group consisting of halogen, lower alkoxy, amino, nitro, hydroxy, acyloxy, ar(lower)alkoxy, lower alkylenedioxy, halo(lower)alkyl, acylamino, ar(lower)alkylamino and aryl; the new 1,2,3,4-tetrahydroisoquinolines and their pharmaceutically acceptable salts have relaxing activity on smooth muscles, especially on vascular- and visceral-smooth muscles.</p> |
