AUTOMATIC SURVEYING APPARATUS

PURPOSE:To easily start tracking by detecting vertical surface laser by a target and performing the remote operation of the laser direction by the communication device on the side of the target. CONSTITUTION:A mirror 33 is mounted in the case 37 rotating around a horizontal axis by a tracking motor 32 and an encoder 36 and a light sensor 38 is mounted around said mirror 33, and tracking laser 12 and measuring beam 34 are reflected by the mirror 33. The tracking laser 12 is reflected by the corner cube prism 63 of the target to become return laser 12b which is, in turn, condensed by a lens 39 to be incident to the light sensor 38. The measuring beam 34 is reflected by the corner cube prism 63 of the target 61 in the same way was the aforementioned tracking laser 12 and returned to an optical distance meter 30 to perform measurement.
